# Sign in and onboarding

> Create an account, sign in, verify your email, accept invitations, and handle identity checks

Before you can start monitoring anything, you'll need a Sitepulse account with a verified email. Here's how to get set up.

## Create an account

Sign up with your name, email, and a password. If Google or GitHub sign-up is available, you can use that instead.

We'll email you a verification link straight away. Click it to confirm your address; until you do, your sites, checks, and the API stay locked.

## Join from an invitation

An invitation is tied to the exact email it was sent to.

Opening an invite without an account yet? Sitepulse walks you through sign-up with that email already filled in. Already have an account? Just sign in with the invited address (verifying it first if needed) and accept.

Find any pending invites under **Teams → Invitations** or in the user menu. Each one shows you the team, your role, who owns it, and how many sites and members it has - then it's up to you to **Accept** or **Decline**.

## Team 2FA requirements

A team owner or admin can require two-factor authentication for that team. When your current team enforces 2FA, you must enable it on your account before accessing that team's dashboard areas.

Set up 2FA from your account security settings.
